The Oxfordshire Prostate Cancer Support Group is a service that provides information and support to those currently suffering or have suffered with prostate cancer and their families.
Bowel Cancer Screening
In England, everyone aged 60 to 74 registered with a GP receives an NHS bowel cancer screening kit every 2 years. The program has expanded to include those aged 50 to 59. Ensure your GP has your correct address for kit delivery.
If you're 75 or older, you can request a kit every 2 years by calling the bowel cancer screening helpline at 0800 707 60 60, which can also assist if you didn’t receive your kit.
Breast Screening
Anyone registered with a GP as female will be invited for NHS breast screening every 3 years between the ages of 50 and 71. You'll get a letter in the post inviting you. Screening is by appointment only and there is no drop-in service. The screening office runs a rolling programme which invites women by area.
The requirement is that all women will receive their first invitation before their 53rd birthday. Women aged 71 or over can contact the local breast screening unit on 01865 235621 to make an appointment every 3 years. Women with breast symptoms should see their GP.
