Antenatal care is the care and help you receive from health professionals during the course of your pregnancy. It is important you take good care of your own health and that of your unborn baby during pregnancy.

When you find out that you are pregnant please register your pregnancy by completing the following online referral form or call the Midwifery team directly on 01865 220457. An initial appointment with your GP is no longer necessary unless you are on regular medication or have existing medical conditions which may impact your pregnancy. If that is the case, please contact us to request a GP appointment.

Our practice nurses are specially trained in asthma and COPD care. During their clinics, they keep an eye on how you're doing and make sure your treatment is working well.

If you have asthma or COPD, it's important to have a check-up every year to review how you're feeling and how your treatment is going. If you have asthma, we'll send you a questionnaire to fill out about your symptoms. If it shows that your asthma isn't well controlled, we'll set up an appointment for you with one of our practice nurses.

We'll contact COPD patients when it's time for your annual review. We'll ask you to call us to schedule an appointment with one of our nurses.

We provide a comprehensive cervical smear service for women over the age of 25. Smear appointments can be booked with one of our practice nurses. Smear tests check the health of your cervix and are essential in finding any abnormal changes which can be treated before they can turn into cancer.

One of the most important things that a parent can do for their child is to make sure that they have all their routine childhood vaccinations. It’s the most effective way of keeping them protected against infectious diseases.
Ideally, children should have their injections at the right age to protect them as early as possible and minimise the risk of infection.

Patients with dementia will be invited in for an annual review with their GP so we can review how you are getting on, discuss your care plan and review treatment options. We welcome significant others to join you for your appointment.

Our specialist diabetes team will provide you with the support and regular reviews your condition needs.

All Diabetic patients are entitled to an annual review. The practice will normally contact you if yours is due. You will be invited for an initial appointment with our healthcare assistance who will check your blood pressure, height, weight and feet as well as do a blood test. It is necessary for you to bring an early morning urine sample with you to this appointment.

The results of this check will be sent to our diabetes team who will contact you to arrange an appointment or inform you of the results and the next steps.

We provide healthcare services for students who attend the EF academy and language schools in Oxford. To register please speak to your EF pastoral lead or complete the online application form.

All the doctors and practice nurses provide family planning and contraception advice as appropriate within their normal appointments. Emergency contraception is available however patients will probably find it easier to contact their local pharmacy or sexual health clinic. Most pharmacies now provide this service free of charge.

The practice can provide contraceptive injections, implants or coils depending on your preference.

Patients taking the contraceptive pill will be sent a questionnaire to complete when their annual review is due. Depending on the outcome of this questionnaire a follow up appointment may be offered with one of our nurses.

Any patient who needs an interpreter can request one. The service we use is provided by DALS.

Some GPs at the surgery can administer steroid injections for those patients with severe joint pains or stiffness (due to arthritis for example). Please arrange a GP appointment if you think you could benefit from this.

Patients with a learning disability will be invited in for an annual review with their GP. During this appointment the GP will ask about how your learning disability affects you, whether you have been able to access important services such as screening or vaccinations, record your weight and blood pressure and identify any other health problems you may be experiencing.

If you have a learning disability and are concerned about your health you don’t need to wait for your annual check to discuss this. Please contact us to arrange an appointment with your GP

We offer a weekly menopause clinic led by our menopause specialist nurse. They are able to offer advice about the symptoms you may be experiencing as well as treatment options including hormone replacement therapy.

Patients on HRT will be sent questionnaires to complete or invited in for an annual review with either our menopause specialist nurse, pharmacist or GP.

Postnatal care extends for between 6 to 8 weeks after the birth of your baby. During this period, you will be offered an appointment with a GP to check how you are and answer any questions you may have. Your baby will also be given an appointment for a developmental check as well as immunisations.

If you need any further advice please request an appointment with your GP. We can provide you with all the information you need to know to have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Patients with a severe mental illness such as bipolar affective disorder or schizophrenia will be invited in for an annual review.

You will be invited for an initial appointment with our healthcare assistance who will check your blood pressure, height, weight and take a blood test to check your cholesterol, blood sugar and kidney function. Our care co-ordinator and/or pharmacy team will then contact you if any of these results need further action.

An appointment with our mental health nurse or a GP will then be arranged for you to discuss your mental health and review any medication that you are currently taking.

If you have a severe mental illness and are concerned about your mental health please contact us and an appointment with our mental health nurse or a GP will be arranged.

Social prescribers can help you with many non-medical problems that impact your health and wellbeing. They know a lot about local support services and can help you with:

• Housing or financial problems
• Loneliness
• Practical or emotional support
• Providing information about local groups, activities or courses

We will often refer patients to our social prescribers where it is felt they could benefit from their input.
