Parking and accessibility
Facilities at Bury Knowle Surgery
Parking
- Limited parking spaces available.
- Only patients (and carers/guardians of patients) of Hedena Health are allowed to use the car park. An ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is now in place, meaning patients have to enter their car registration at reception on arrival to avoid a fine.
- Blue badge holders must display their badges and enter their registration number at reception.
We are easily accessible from London Road by foot, car or bus and would encourage you to use public transport wherever possible to reduce congestion.
- On site bicycle parking is also available.

Opening hours
Important
We are closed on all UK bank holidays.
Once a month, we operate with reduced services for half a day to allow for mandatory staff training. During this time Barton site is closed and our calls directed to our call handling service. In addition, the practice closes fully for staff training once every quarter.

Out of hours
Enhanced Access
The practice offers some early morning, evening and weekend appointments for certain services. Enhanced access appointments are available at the practice for certain services such as vaccinations, health checks, smear tests and blood tests.
- Appointments need to be pre-booked, as we do not offer a walk-in service.
Appointments are available on:
- Tuesday Mornings: 7am to 8am
- Wednesday Evenings: 6:30pm to 8pm
- Friday Mornings: 7am to 8am
- Saturdays: 8am to 12pm (once a month, the Saturday appointments are extended to 5pm)
Appointments are available with GPs, paramedics, pharmacists nurses and healthcare assistants and cover all the usual services offered including vaccinations, health checks and screenings.
Life Threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Urgent But Not Life Threatening
Visit an urgent care centre if:
- You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
